At DualRec ("we", "us", or "our"), accessible via the DualRec iOS application, your privacy is our core priority. DualRec is engineered with a zero-data collection architecture. All video processing, camera feed synthesis, filter rendering, and media serialization happen 100% locally on your device.

We do not operate external database servers, we do not require user accounts, and we never collect, store, sell, or transmit your video files, audio recordings, or personal metadata.

1. Zero Data Collection

DualRec does not collect, harvest, or transmit any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as your name, email address, physical address, or phone number. There are no user accounts, logins, or server-side user profiles.

2. Device Permissions

To function as a camera recording studio, DualRec requests access to specific device capabilities:

  • Camera: Used strictly to capture real-time video frames and simultaneously encode portrait and landscape video formats from a single sensor.
  • Microphone: Used strictly to record synchronized stereo audio alongside your video capture.
  • Speech Recognition: Used exclusively by the AI Voice-Follow Teleprompter to match your spoken words with your script in real time. Speech transcription is processed locally on your device using Apple's Speech framework in on-device-only mode, so your speech is never sent to Apple's or our servers. DualRec never records, uploads, stores, or analyzes your transcripts.
  • Photo Library: Used strictly with add-only access to export and save your finished video sessions directly to your iOS Photos app when requested. DualRec cannot read, scan, or modify your existing photo library.

3. On-Device AI & Computer Vision

DualRec's Smart Frame feature utilizes Apple's on-device Vision frameworks (face tracking and body-pose estimation) to dynamically compose and smooth the horizontal video crop:

  • All spatial and positional calculations are processed ephemerally in volatile device memory (RAM) on a per-frame basis.
  • DualRec does not identify individuals, does not create biometric identifiers or facial recognition profiles, and does not store spatial tracking coordinates.

4. Third-Party Analytics & Tracking

DualRec contains zero third-party trackers, marketing SDKs, or commercial analytics packages. We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iOS settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share anonymized crash reports and diagnostic data with us. This is controlled entirely by you at the iOS system level, can be turned off at any time, and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage & Retention

  • All recorded video files, project sessions, and audio tracks remain exclusively in your device's local application sandbox or your Apple Photos library.
  • You maintain complete control over your files. Deleting recordings inside the app permanently removes them from the app's local storage. Copies you have already saved to your Photos library stay there until you delete them in the Photos app.
  • If you delete the DualRec app, all locally cached media within the app container is permanently deleted.

6. Children's Privacy

DualRec does not collect, store, or transmit personal information from any user, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our app features or regulatory requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
